Dar es Salaam to Host Major Toyota IST Festival on Valentine’s Day
Dar es Salaam – The city is set to host a spectacular festival dedicated to Toyota IST car owners on February 14, Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila announced yesterday.
The IST Festival will take place at Coco Beach and is anticipated to draw more than 1,000 Toyota IST vehicles from across the region.
Scheduled to coincide with Valentine’s Day celebrations, the festival will showcase competitions for the best-decorated Toyota IST vehicles alongside exciting racing events.
Participants will compete for impressive prizes totaling Sh100 million, with the grand prize being a brand-new Toyota IST vehicle.
Special recognition will also be given to the most stylish couples attending the celebration.
"The IST Festival, themed ‘Vimba na Gari Yako’, will offer a unique experience. Beyond entertainment, attendees will have access to health screening services, including heart check-ups provided by the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI)," Chalamila stated.
The event is designed to unite Dar es Salaam residents at the beginning of the year, following the general election period, through a major social gathering celebrating car culture.
Mayor Nurdin Billal confirmed that the festival will feature live musical performances from various artists, barbecue offerings, and numerous entertainment activities throughout the day.
"Given the Valentine’s Day timing, standout couples will receive special prizes. The grand prize winner will receive Sh100 million, with racing route details to be announced soon," the Mayor added.
