Police Investigate Suspected Assault in Death of Popular Comedian MC Pilipili

Dodoma. The Dodoma Regional Police Force has announced that preliminary findings suggest popular comedian and master of ceremonies Emmanuel Mathias, widely known as MC Pilipili, may have died from physical assault.

Dodoma Regional Police Commander Gallus Hyela confirmed that police collaborated with medical experts to examine the body, revealing injuries inconsistent with a natural death. The findings have led to the immediate launch of a murder investigation.

"We worked with medical specialists and discovered that the body had marks indicating assault. These marks were not normal," Mr Hyela stated. "We have launched an investigation to establish what happened, and we urge anyone with confidential information to come forward."

Hospital officials reported that MC Pilipili’s body was brought to the Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital at approximately 5pm on Sunday, November 16, 2025. The body was delivered by individuals who identified themselves as good Samaritans.

Dr Ernest Ibenzi, the hospital’s medical officer-in-charge, confirmed receiving the body and noted that MC Pilipili had already passed away upon arrival.

Police are appealing to members of the public to provide any information that could assist in uncovering the circumstances surrounding the comedian’s death.
