Precision Air Expands Fleet to Meet Growing Tanzanian Tourism Demand
Tanzania’s leading regional airline has announced a strategic fleet expansion aimed at addressing capacity challenges and supporting the country’s booming tourism sector. The airline will introduce two new aircraft to its fleet, including an ATR 72-500 through a wet lease and the return of an upgraded ATR 42-600.
The fleet enhancement comes at a critical time, with Tanzania experiencing record growth in tourist arrivals. The new aircraft will significantly improve connectivity across key destinations, including routes between Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Seronera, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Nairobi.
The upgraded ATR 42-600 promises enhanced passenger comfort with improved seating and reduced engine noise. Additionally, the aircraft will expand operations in the Comoros market, providing crucial domestic connections between Grand Comoros’ Hahaya airport and Anjouan.
The fleet expansion is strategically timed to enter service on 1 August 2025, perfectly aligning with the peak tourism season. This move demonstrates the airline’s commitment to meeting market demand while maintaining high service standards and addressing previous challenges related to aircraft availability.
The investment aims to resolve recent operational disruptions caused by global supply chain issues and engine part shortages. By adding these aircraft, the airline seeks to minimize travel inconveniences and provide more reliable and comfortable air travel experiences across Tanzania and key East African destinations.
This significant fleet expansion positions the airline as a critical infrastructure provider for Tanzania’s tourism industry, reinforcing its role in supporting the country’s growing travel and transportation sector.
