Tanzanian Courier Services Face Strict Regulatory Scrutiny for Delivery Performance
The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has disclosed that 50 percent of courier service providers are failing to meet critical parcel delivery standards across the country.
In a comprehensive communication status report covering October to December 2024, TCRA revealed that only eight out of 17 evaluated service providers successfully complied with established Service Quality Standards.
The regulatory assessment focused on courier services in vital regions, including Arusha, Moshi, Tanga, Morogoro, Kibaha, Dodoma, Mbeya, Mwanza, Iringa, and Zanzibar. Stringent performance criteria mandate that:
– Region A providers must deliver 85 percent of parcels within one day
– Region B providers must ensure 88 percent of parcels are delivered within three days
TCRA has firmly warned that non-compliant providers will face appropriate regulatory measures to enforce quality and efficiency in parcel delivery services.
This assessment underscores the authority’s commitment to maintaining high standards in Tanzania’s logistics and communication infrastructure, ensuring reliable and timely delivery services for consumers and businesses nationwide.
