Tanzania will send a dynamic team of four young cyclists to compete in the prestigious Grand Nairobi Jubilee ‘Live Free’ Race 2025, scheduled for October 5 in Nairobi. This exciting international cycling event represents a critical opportunity for emerging Tanzanian athletes to showcase their skills on a regional stage.
The national team consists of three male and one female cyclist, carefully selected through a comprehensive national talent identification process. The chosen athletes – Asnat Moris, Frank Marik, Hassan Sharif, and Waziri Masoli – have demonstrated exceptional potential through competitive performances over the past two years.
According to national cycling authorities, this race is more than just a competition. It serves as a strategic platform to strengthen Tanzania’s cycling culture and provide international exposure for young athletes. The team has already gained valuable experience by recently competing in Rwanda and is now intensively preparing for the Nairobi event.
The race is expected to attract top cyclists from across East Africa, including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. Beyond athletic competition, the event emphasizes critical values of youth empowerment, health promotion, and regional sporting unity.
For Tanzania, participation represents a significant step in developing national sporting talent, inspiring future generations, and promoting active lifestyles among young people. The cyclists’ journey symbolizes the country’s commitment to nurturing athletic potential and creating opportunities for youth development through sports.
As preparations intensify, all eyes are on these four talented cyclists who will carry Tanzania’s sporting hopes to the international cycling arena.
