Air Tanzania Launches Major Recruitment Drive: 173 Job Vacancies Open for Aviation Professionals

Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) has announced a significant recruitment drive, offering 173 job vacancies as part of its strategic expansion plan. The national carrier is seeking to strengthen its workforce and international presence through this comprehensive hiring initiative.

The job openings include 23 captain positions, 45 first officers, 100 cabin crew members, one accountant, and four ramp assistants. Notably, the recruitment specifically seeks 20 cabin crew members with French and Chinese language proficiencies, highlighting the airline’s commitment to global connectivity.

Successful candidates will be offered attractive 10-year contracts, positioning this opportunity as a game-changing career move for aviation professionals. The recruitment aligns with ATCL’s five-year Corporate Strategic Plan (2022/23–2026/27), which focuses on expanding routes and enhancing operational capabilities.

The airline has recently expanded its fleet with Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A220-300s, enabling long-haul route operations and improved passenger experiences. Current international routes include destinations in China, India, and the United Arab Emirates, with plans for further expansion.

Language-specific recruitment reflects ATCL’s strategic approach to customer service, recognizing the importance of multilingual communication in international travel. French and Chinese language skills are particularly valued for targeting key African and Asian markets.

This recruitment drive represents more than just job creation; it signals ATCL’s commitment to developing Tanzania’s aviation sector. The initiative provides opportunities for young Tanzanian graduates and positions the national carrier as a significant employer in the aviation industry.

As ATCL continues to grow, these new hires are expected to play a crucial role in establishing Tanzania’s visibility on the global aviation stage, promoting national identity, and supporting economic development through enhanced international connectivity.
