CCM Launches Powerful Election Campaign in Zanzibar, Promises Economic Growth and Job Creation

Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in Zanzibar kicked off its official election campaign with ambitious pledges focused on peace, unity, job creation, and accelerating economic development. The ruling party launched its campaign on September 13 at Mnazimmoja Grounds in Unguja, drawing thousands of supporters.

Presidential candidate Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi outlined a comprehensive strategy targeting key economic and social sectors. He committed to eliminating all forms of discrimination and promoting national unity across Zanzibar’s regions.

The party’s 2025-2030 manifesto highlights include:
– Creating 350,000 new jobs
– Boosting social services
– Advancing industrialization and agriculture
– Expanding economic opportunities for youth

Dr. Mwinyi projected Zanzibar’s economy to grow from 7.4% to 10% in the next term. He also promised significant infrastructure developments, including:
– Constructing a new international airport
– Expanding Mkoani Port
– Developing Shumba Port
– Granting land titles to clove farmers

Key campaign promises encompass:
– Doubling interest-free loans
– Supporting motorcycle taxi operators through cooperative formations
– Strengthening national unity
– Enhancing investment in tourism
– Establishing petroleum and diesel reserves

With endorsements from former Zanzibar presidents and a clear message of continuity and prosperity, CCM aims to secure another term focused on comprehensive national development.
