Tanzania Launches Comprehensive Immigration Verification Campaign
The Immigration Department of Tanzania has initiated a critical month-long verification exercise targeting residence permits and immigration statuses of foreign nationals working and residing in the country. Running from September 11 to October 8, 2025, this comprehensive nationwide operation aims to ensure strict compliance with immigration regulations.
Foreign nationals, employers, and business owners are required to participate in the verification process by presenting their passports and valid immigration documents at designated locations. Specifically, individuals must visit the Kurasini Immigration Office in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar Immigration Headquarters, or their respective Regional Immigration Offices.
Key objectives of the verification campaign include enhancing national security, protecting the local labour market, and maintaining rigorous oversight of foreign resident populations. The Immigration Department has emphasized the importance of maximum public cooperation during this process.
All expatriates and businesses employing foreign workers are mandated to facilitate staff document verification. Authorities have stressed that this exercise is crucial for ensuring legal compliance and maintaining the integrity of Tanzania’s immigration system.
Failure to participate in this verification process may result in potential legal consequences for both foreign nationals and their employers. The department has urged all concerned parties to take this directive seriously and complete the necessary documentation checks within the specified timeframe.
