President Unveils Transformative Infrastructure Plan for Bahi District
In a landmark announcement, the Presidential candidate has outlined a comprehensive economic development strategy for Bahi District, promising to revolutionize the region’s economic landscape through strategic infrastructure investments.
During a high-energy rally in Dodoma, the President emphasized the district’s pivotal role in Tanzania’s economic expansion, highlighting two game-changing projects: a Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) station and a proposed dry port.
“These initiatives will create unprecedented opportunities for our youth and local businesses,” the President declared. “By integrating Bahi into our national trade network, we’re unlocking tremendous economic potential.”
The proposed SGR station will significantly enhance regional connectivity, enabling faster freight and passenger transportation. This infrastructure will directly support local commerce and generate substantial employment opportunities for the district’s residents.
Complementing the railway project, the planned dry port will serve as a crucial logistics hub, attracting investments and streamlining trade operations. The President also announced targeted skills development programs through vocational training, focusing on logistics and rail operations to prepare the local workforce for emerging economic opportunities.
Additional infrastructure improvements, including enhanced feeder roads connecting agricultural zones to the new transportation network, will further support the district’s economic transformation.
The comprehensive plan underscores a strategic vision of integrated development, positioning Bahi as a key economic center in the Dodoma Region and contributing to Tanzania’s broader economic growth objectives.
