Special Commuter Bus Routes Approved for Sabasaba Trade Exhibition in Dar es Salaam
The Land Transport Regulatory Authority (Latra) has announced special transportation arrangements for the ongoing Sabasaba exhibitions, approving dedicated commuter bus routes to enhance accessibility for traders and visitors.
Under the new transportation plan, daladalas (local commuter buses) will be permitted to extend their regular routes to accommodate the increased demand during the trade fair. Buses from routes like Tegeta Nyuki to Makumbusho can now continue to the exhibition grounds before resuming their standard routes.
Strict Conditions for Bus Operators
Latra has established comprehensive guidelines for buses participating in these special routes:
• Buses must be officially registered with Latra
• Operators must possess valid transport licenses
• Vehicles must adhere to approved fare structures
• Route extensions must be direct with no unauthorized detours
Additionally, drivers are required to:
– Follow all road safety regulations
– Stop only at authorized locations
– Wear clean uniforms
– Provide courteous passenger service
Collaborative Monitoring Efforts
Latra is collaborating closely with traffic police to:
– Guide buses to designated drop-off and pick-up areas
– Conduct rigorous inspections
– Prevent unauthorized special hire services
These strategic transportation arrangements aim to streamline movement and enhance visitor experience during the Sabasaba exhibitions.
