CCM Calls for Unity and Rejects Divisive Politics Ahead of 2025 General Election

Tanzania’s ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), has launched a powerful campaign to preserve national unity and discourage divisive political tactics in the lead-up to the 2025 General Election.

Senior party officials from Zanzibar and Arusha have strongly emphasized the importance of maintaining Tanzania’s hard-won peace and social cohesion. They warned political actors against exploiting religious, ethnic, or regional differences to manipulate voters.

“No one will succeed in dividing Tanzanians based on identity,” declared party leadership. “Our peace and unity are a shared legacy built through generations of collective effort.”

The party stressed that national development transcends political boundaries. “Access to essential services like water, electricity, and healthcare should unite, not divide us,” party representatives stated.

Highlighting the potential dangers of divisive rhetoric, officials pointed to conflicts in neighboring countries as cautionary examples. They urged political leaders to focus on policy-driven debates and constructive dialogue.

“Let us discuss issues—not identities,” the party emphasized. “Those who choose divisive paths will find themselves isolated by a public that values peace.”

CCM is positioning itself as a guardian of national stability, showcasing ongoing infrastructure and development projects as evidence of its commitment to inclusive progress.

With political activity intensifying ahead of the October election, the party’s message is clear: Tanzania’s strength lies in its unity, and no political agenda should compromise that fundamental principle.
