Halotel Reaches 16.5 Million Customers in Tanzania After Decade of Operations
Dar es Salaam – Halotel Tanzania has announced reaching 16.5 million customers following a decade of major investment in telecommunications infrastructure across the country.
The customer base has grown steadily since the company began operations in Tanzania in 2015 through September 2025.
To mark its tenth anniversary, Halotel conducted a nationwide campaign draw, awarding a Subaru Forester XT to the grand prize winner.
Magdalena Nkuba from Simiyu Region was announced as the winner on January 6, 2026, during an official draw supervised by the Gaming Board of Tanzania.
Head of Public Relations and Communications, Roxana Kadio, confirmed the announcement following the official draw proceedings.
Kadio stated that the company remains committed to ensuring every Tanzanian citizen has access to high-quality, affordable, and widely available communication services.
"These achievements are the result of substantial investment in communications infrastructure. This is why we serve millions of customers, connecting people from rural to urban areas, particularly locations that previously had no network coverage," Kadio said.
She emphasized that Halotel continues strengthening its services by prioritizing customers, delivering reliable communication solutions, and improving users’ lives while maintaining accessibility and affordability.
The tenth anniversary campaign launched in October 2025 and ran for three months. Customers qualified to win prizes, including the grand prize vehicle, through Halopesa transactions starting from Sh2,000.
Prior to the vehicle draw, the campaign featured several draws where customers won cash prizes of up to Sh2 million.
"Our customer from Simiyu Region, Magdalena Nkuba, won a brand-new Subaru Forester XT. She will be guided through the official process for receiving the vehicle," Kadio announced.
Elibariki Sengasenga, representing the Gaming Board of Tanzania, confirmed that all required procedures were followed to ensure the winner was selected lawfully and transparently.
"The winner was selected through certified documentation, and the process was conducted in full public view," Sengasenga stated.
He encouraged other companies to strictly adhere to established procedures and obtain Gaming Board approval to maintain public trust in promotional draws and campaigns.
