President Samia Suluhu Hassan Unveils Ambitious Agricultural Transformation Plan for Hanang’ District
In a groundbreaking campaign rally at Katesh, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has set an extraordinary vision for Hanang’ District, targeting a remarkable one million tonnes of wheat production annually by 2030. The strategic agricultural initiative aims to transform the region into a national grain production powerhouse.
Addressing local residents, the president emphasized the district’s untapped potential, declaring, “Our vision is crystal clear: by 2030, Hanang’ will produce one million tonnes of wheat every year. You have the land, knowledge, and now, with government support, you will have the necessary tools.”
The ambitious plan includes critical interventions such as:
• Providing subsidized fertilizers and agricultural inputs
• Reclaiming idle lands from unproductive landholders
• Supporting farmers with enhanced agricultural resources
Beyond agricultural development, the president highlighted comprehensive infrastructure and social investments, including:
• Road network upgrades
• Health center constructions
• Educational facility developments
• Livestock market renovations
“We have invested over Sh20 billion in critical infrastructure, bringing electricity, building schools, health centers, and creating new economic opportunities,” she stated.
The president also addressed the district’s recent challenges, particularly devastating mudslides, praising the community’s resilience and rebuilding efforts.
Concluding her powerful address, President Hassan appealed to citizens to trust the continued vision of development, stating, “We served you diligently for the last five years. And if you grant us five more, we shall go even further.”
