President Samia Suluhu Hassan Promises Continued Development for Pangani District
President Samia Suluhu Hassan has called on Pangani District residents to support her re-election, outlining ambitious plans for infrastructure, agriculture, education, and livestock sectors.
During a recent campaign rally, the president highlighted significant progress on key infrastructure projects. The 95-kilometre Pangani–Saadani–Makurunge road is now 50 percent complete, with the 125-metre Pangani Bridge reaching 62 percent completion. These critical infrastructure developments aim to transform regional connectivity and economic opportunities.
“Our commitment to Pangani is to fully complete this road and bridge,” President Hassan emphasized. “Once finished, these projects will revolutionize access to services, trade, and tourism, particularly connecting remote communities during challenging rainy seasons.”
The president also showcased agricultural and youth empowerment initiatives. The Building a Better Tomorrow (BBT) programme focuses on empowering young people through modern agricultural practices. Agricultural equipment centres in Mseko, Kipungwe, and Kigurusimba are now supporting youth-led farming initiatives.
In the livestock sector, the government has introduced subsidized vaccination programmes to help local producers meet international standards and expand export opportunities. “When you prosper, the nation prospers,” President Hassan stated.
Education has seen remarkable transformation, with the number of secondary schools in the district increasing from just two in 2015 to 13 today. The president also pledged to expand healthcare facilities in underserved areas like Mikocheni, Sange, and Omkaramo, with a comprehensive master plan to establish new health posts and dispensaries.
Local political leaders have praised the president’s developmental approach, emphasizing her potential to continue driving positive change in the region.
The president’s message is clear: continued support will enable further comprehensive development across critical sectors, ultimately improving the lives of Tanzanian citizens.
