Devastating Fire Destroys Girls’ School Dormitory in Kilimanjaro Region
A catastrophic fire swept through the dormitory of Asharose Migiro Girls’ Secondary School in Makuyuni, Mwanga District, causing extensive damage and leaving 46 students traumatized. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of September 29, 2025, destroying critical school infrastructure including 354 beds and mattresses, 32 wardrobes, and 32 shoe racks.
Regional fire authorities confirmed that while no lives were lost, the scale of property destruction is significant. Emergency responders immediately transported the shocked students to Mwilange Health Centre for medical evaluation and support.
