President Samia Suluhu Hassan Launches Campaign in Mtwara, Promises Water and Agricultural Development
In a compelling campaign launch, President Samia Suluhu Hassan visited Mtwara Region, outlining comprehensive plans to transform water access and agricultural productivity, with a special emphasis on the cashew farming sector.
During her visit to Nanyumbu District, the President highlighted significant water infrastructure investments, detailing specific projects that are already improving community living conditions. She revealed major water projects spanning 18 villages, including substantial connections in Maratani and Sengenya Wards, providing reliable water supplies to previously underserved households.
Addressing agricultural challenges, President Hassan announced a substantial Sh3.5 billion allocation to strengthen the cashew value chain. The funds will focus on enhancing processing facilities, improving storage infrastructure, and stabilizing market prices for farmers.
“Development does not come by chance, but through collective effort,” she emphasized, underscoring her commitment to ensuring citizens benefit from improved services and national prosperity.
