The partnership will provide targeted assistance to farmers, enabling them to access essential resources for land preparation, crop management, and post-harvest marketing. Since the beginning of the year, the foundation has already disbursed over 6 billion Tanzanian shillings to support agricultural inputs, modern farming tools, and machinery.
Key highlights of the partnership include:
– Direct assistance to 10,000 farmers initially
– Advanced technological solutions for soil health assessment
– Personalized fertilizer and crop recommendations
– Market linkage support for agricultural produce
The initiative addresses critical challenges faced by smallholder farmers, particularly focusing on providing accessible financial and technical services to those often excluded from traditional banking systems. By leveraging technological platforms, the partnership aims to dramatically improve agricultural efficiency and farmer productivity.
Currently operating service centers across 15 regions including Kagera, Kigoma, Mbeya, and Morogoro, the program will offer over 300 service points providing expert agricultural guidance and essential farming inputs.
This strategic partnership represents a significant step towards transforming Tanzania’s agricultural landscape, empowering farmers with knowledge, technology, and financial support to enhance their agricultural outcomes.
