In a powerful rally at Nzega grounds, President Samia Suluhu Hassan emphasized how her administration’s robust anti-corruption strategy is driving tangible national progress across multiple sectors.
Addressing thousands of supporters, the President underscored that strategic resource management has enabled significant infrastructure and agricultural development. “If we had allowed corruption to persist, none of our current achievements—such as road construction, water access, hospital upgrades, and farmer support—would exist,” she declared.
Tanzania’s Anti-Corruption Impact: By the Numbers
The country has made remarkable strides in combating corruption, ranking second least corrupt in the East African Community. Recent performance metrics reveal substantial improvements in public sector transparency and resource allocation.
Agricultural Transformation Highlights:
– Tobacco production reached a historic 188,000 tonnes, generating $400 million
– Cotton production doubled from 174,000 to 282,510 tonnes
– Organic cotton in Simiyu Region increased from 64,594 to 140,000 tonnes
