Dodoma Prepares for Critical 2025 Election Candidate Nominations
The National Electoral Commission has announced that Wednesday, August 27, will be the official nomination day for all candidates seeking to contest in the upcoming 2025 General Election.
The comprehensive nomination exercise will cover critical electoral positions including presidential, vice-presidential, parliamentary, and councillorship roles across Mainland Tanzania.
Nomination procedures will be meticulously conducted with presidential and vice-presidential candidate submissions taking place at the Commission’s headquarters in Dodoma. The nomination window will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing candidates ample time to submit their official documentation.
Parliamentary and councillor candidates will simultaneously undergo nomination processes at their respective constituency and ward levels, ensuring a comprehensive and synchronized approach to candidate registration.
Election officials have confirmed that all preparatory arrangements for the nomination process have been finalized. Candidates who previously collected nomination forms are urged to submit their documentation punctually to guarantee a smooth registration process.
Following the 4:00 p.m. submission deadline, candidate names will be publicly displayed on notice boards at designated election offices, allowing for transparent public verification of nominations.
