Tanzania Showcases Agricultural Potential at Global Fruit Logistica Exhibition
Twenty-six Tanzanian agricultural companies are set to make a significant impact at the Fruit Logistica 2025 Exhibition in Berlin, Germany, highlighting the nation’s robust fresh produce sector.
The prestigious global trade fair, running from February 5 to 7, represents a critical platform for Tanzania to expand its international agricultural market presence. This landmark event will feature a comprehensive showcase of Tanzania’s horticultural capabilities, focusing on diverse produce including avocados, spices, fruits, and vegetables.
Recent statistics underscore the sector’s economic significance, with Tanzania’s horticultural crop production reaching 174,904.81 metric tonnes in 2023/2024, generating export revenues exceeding $253.8 million. The exhibition aims to further boost these impressive figures by fostering new international trade partnerships and attracting global investment.
The national delegation, led by key agricultural regulatory bodies, is strategically positioning Tanzania as an emerging powerhouse in agricultural exports. Their participation reflects a targeted approach to enhance market access and promote the country’s agricultural products on the world stage.
A key objective of the exhibition is to secure new trade connections, gain valuable market insights, and develop policy recommendations that will drive future agricultural investments. The collaborative effort represents a crucial step in achieving the Ministry of Agriculture’s ambitious goal of increasing horticultural crop production by six percent in the 2024/2025 financial year.
Local farmers and industry representatives are optimistic about the exhibition’s potential to brand Tanzania’s agricultural products globally, positioning the nation as a competitive player in international agricultural trade.
